There are two models of the high-roof Tata Winger Ambulance BS6 - 3200 and 3488 - both of which are AIS 125 Part 1 norms compliant, available in four options including shell, patient transport, basic life support and advanced life support.
Engine: The new Tata Wingers are high on performance and low on emissions, being powered by BS6 2.2 Litre engine, at 73.5 kW @3750 r/min, with a torque of 200 Nm @1000-3500 r/min. This is a highly fuel-efficient engine, with a flat torque curve that allows for smooth acceleration.
Driveline: These front wheel drive ambulances have a optimized driveline that allows for more internal space, ensuring higher comfort and convenience to the patient and passengers. The manual gearbox has five forward gears and one reverse, while the clutch is 215 mm single-plate dry friction semi-hydraulic actuation for effortless use.
Steering: The Tata Winger BS6 models are fitted with power assisted rack and pinion steering wheels that are easy to move without added resistance, ensuring high manoeuvrability of the van, which is crucial in times of a medical crisis or situations where one is driving against the clock.
Brakes: In the front, the Tata Winger Ambulance van has disc brakes with twin pot calliper and drum brakes with ABS (Anti lock braking system) fitted in the rear, that are not only smooth in function, they also prevent vehicle locking.
