The Magic Mountain Goat
Why the Tata Magic Express is a popular public transport vehicle in India’s toughest territories.
A robust and smart engine
The Tata Magic Express is an advanced last mile passenger transport vehicle with multi-terrain capability.
It has a highly reliable next gen Common Rail Dicor Engine which gives it high driving speeds (up to 80 kmph) and superior mileage (up to 21.84 kmpl as certified by ARAI) with lesser gear shifts, and a 5-speed gearbox that comes with an inbuilt “smart calibration” for maximising fuel efficacy.
Tata Magic Express Gradeability
The Tata Magic Express handles extremely well on slopes. Its large 190mm (diameter) clutch gives it a superior Torque of 100Nm – which is best in class, and a Gradeability of 37% means that the vehicle can be safely used to ferry passengers on tricky hilly terrain. The overhang in the Tata Magic has also been kept optimum to provide perfect balance to the vehicle on rolling terrain.
Variants
Apart from the Tata Magic Express, Tata Magic also has other variants (each which come with individual sub-models depending on the specifications preferred). These are:
Tata Magic, Tata Magic CNG, Magic Iris, Magic Iris CNG, and Magic Mantra. The Magic Express is available in BS IV variant in both diesel and CNG versions. It comes with flexible seating configurations of 6+D and 7+D and multiple colour options to suit local transportation related regulatory requirements.
Due to the car like features and feel of Magic, it is often hired by wedding parties and by large families going for pilgrimage trips. It is very often used as a mini bus by schools as it is both a safe and economical option to ferry children on a daily basis. These represent additional earning opportunities for Magic operators compared to 3 wheelers.
